Yaadcore

Tickets: $20

Age 21+

From game-changing DJ to groundbreaking artist, Yaadcore is one of the most unique and intriguing figures in today’s Jamaican reggae scene. After gaining prominence as the essential selector of the reggae revival movement headlined by acts like Protoje and Chronixx, Yaadcore has emerged into a powerful and influential artist in his own right. On the heels of breakout singles “Ready Now” and “The Calling,” the now full-time vocalist just released his

debut album, Reggaeland, in March 2022 which got considered for a grammy nomination also hitting number 6 on the I-tunes Reggae Charts in the first week, with “Ghetto Youths and “Nyquill” getting into the ranks on the I-tunes Reggae singles chart.

Born Rory Cha, Yaadcore was raised in Mandeville, Jamaica, where he learned the art of “playing sound” from his father, a selector with local reggae sound system, Love People International.

2019 saw the release of “Ready Now”, his breakout track, now over 1,000,000 views on youtube followed by “The Calling” in 2020 — spiritual manifestos which cemented his place as the leading force behind reggae’s new future roots movement. The success of these early vocal tracks, which received accolades both locally and from international media outlets like Complex and Vice, convinced him that he was on the right path.

Now fully focused on his artistry and making his own music, Yaadcore has spread his wings through celebrated and highly-regarded collaborations with the likes of Jah9 (“Police in Helicopter”), Richie Spice (“Nyquill (Spliff A Light Spliff)” holding is own as the official video for “Ghetto Youths” surpasses 2,000,000 after the first year.

Recently he appeared alongside the late legend Lee “Scratch Perry on “Green Brain” from US reggae producers Green Lion Crew.

Those seeking the full Yaadcore experience can expect all that and more from Reggaeland. The project features hit singles like “Ready Now” and “Ghetto Youths” along with a diverse set of original tracks including Jamaican reggae’s first ever paean to “Shrooms.” While the album’s title speaks to Yaadcore’s roots in reggae, the project is truly broad in its musical scope.

Having already cemented his place as the preeminent tastemaker and curator for reggae music, Yaadcore is truly becoming a major voice in the genre.
