Role Description: This part-time SERVER OPEN CALL role is for an on-site position at S.O.B.’s in New York, NY, on Monday, September 7, from 2pm–3pm. Servers will greet guests, present menus, take food and beverage orders, and deliver items in a timely and accurate manner during live performances and events. The role includes setting up and breaking down tables and sections, maintaining cleanliness in the dining and bar areas, and coordinating with the bar, kitchen, and hosts to ensure smooth service. Team members will handle payments, follow responsible alcohol service guidelines, and provide courteous, informed service that reflects S.O.B.’s focus on music and hospitality. Availability for evenings, weekends, and event nights is expected.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in table service, bar service, or hospitality in a fast-paced restaurant or live music venue.
  • Strong customer service skills, including clear communication, active listening, and a friendly, professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently during busy events, multitask, and collaborate with a diverse team.
  • Comfort working in a loud, high-energy environment and moving safely through crowds and tight spaces.
  • Basic math and point-of-sale (POS) skills for handling orders, tabs, and payments accurately.
  • Reliable punctuality, flexible schedule for nights and weekends, and adherence to venue policies and responsible alcohol service laws.
  • Interest in live music and multicultural genres; prior experience in entertainment or nightlife settings is a plus.
  • Must meet legal age requirements for serving alcohol in New York and be able to stand and move for extended periods.

Marketing Intern: Fall 2026 [Opens August 1]

As a Marketing Intern at SOB’s, you will work with our marketing team to strategize and promote upcoming events at SOB’s. Responsibilities will include providing administrative support to the marketing team, managing social media pages, assisting with website administration/SEO, creating marketing content, drafting email newsletters, and brainstorming/executing marketing ideas. This is an unpaid, for-credit position open only to current college students eligible to receive school credit.

Graphic & Video Design Intern: Fall 2026 [Opens August 1]

As a Graphic Design Intern at S.O.B.’s, you will work with our marketing, booking, and management teams to create flyers, videos, menus, screen visuals, and other graphics to aid in promotion of upcoming events at S.O.B.’s. The right candidate will understand and have an appreciation for live music culture, will be able to deliver consistently and quickly in a fast-paced environment, and will have strong communication skills. Responsibilities will include daily creation of graphics and videos. Candidate must have basic knowledge of Adobe, Canva, and video-editing software. This is an unpaid, for-credit position open only to current college students eligible to receive school credit.
