Selena's Birthday: A Dance Party

Celebrate the birthday of the legendary Selena with a dance party and happy hour!! All of your favorite Selena classics will be spun by DJs Riobamba and Undocubougie. Grab a bite to eat, sip on happy hour cocktails, and hit the dancefloor! It’s a weekday, so we’re starting at 7:00PM to make sure everyone is well-rested for the next day. 

Riobamba  is an Ecuadorian-Lithuanian sound artist, DJ, and cultural activist based in New York City. The Fader has called her production work “a radically self-expressive piece of futurism that stands against a single, boxed-in definition of what Latinx club music can be.” With performances at Panorama Festival and Boiler Room and features in Vogue, Rolling Stone, and more, Riobamba is a DJ you won’t want to miss. 

Undocubougie is a Peruvian-American DJ and community organizer based in New York City. She’s dedicated her career to opening up cumbia, salsa, merengue, chicha, and bachata spaces to queer women of color by founding the collective Arrebato. Since then, she’s made a name for herself as one of New York’s best Cumbia DJs. 

Entry is free with RSVP before 7:30PM, or arrive at your leisure by purchasing early bird tickets for just $5. 

No dresscode is enforced, but Selena-inspired outfits are highly encouraged. 

For all things Latin, S.O.B.’s is New York City’s premier live music club, with constant tejano, latin pop, reggaeton, merengue, salsa, and cumbia parties! In the 1980s, the venue hosted Latin legends including Tito Puente, Marc Anthony, Celia Cruz, and Los Van Van, followed by later stars such as Mana, DannyLux, Calle 13, Los Aptos, and Los Amigos Invincibles. S.O.B.’s also hosted the New York City residency for “BRESH,” a global party sensation that called S.O.B.’s its home base from 2021-2023.
