Don’t miss our final Samba Sunset of 2024 at Sounds of Brazil! Join us for a Thanksgiving weekend like no other. A night of drinking and dancing awaits.

We’re getting back to our roots with Samba Sunset, a dinner & drinks happy hour with free RSVP, samba dance lessons, dance performances, and a live DJ playing samba, baile funk, forro, MPB, and more. Sip on happy hour caipirinhas, grab a bite to eat, learn some moves, and celebrate the music of Brasil with us <3

For over 40 years, Sounds of Brazil (aka SOB’s) has been widely known as the premier Brazilian venue in New York City, hosting Brazilian events ranging from samba dance lessons and bossa nova brunches to concerts and baile funk raves. Our history with Brazilian music goes back to the 80’s, when legends including Gilberto Gil, Jorge Ben Jor, Ed Motta, Astrud Gilberto, and Maria Monte got their start on our stage.

Doors open at 6:00pm, dance lessons start at 7:00pm, and entry is free with RSVP from 6:00-6:30pm. With Brazilian majesty hoster Silvana Magda, music by DJ Greg Caz, and dance lessons by Samba diva instructor Luciana Da Silva. Performances by the Viva Brazil dancers start at 8:00PM, plus a special guest performance by Samba New York batucada!

Tables with drink and dinner service are available on a first-come-first-serve basis. For reservations of 10+ people, please email booking@sobs.com.
