Cult Hip Hop podcast Juan EP is Life was one of the first Hip Hop podcasts, created in 2007 by Cipha Sounds and Peter Rosenberg. Named after the character Juan Epstein from the popular 70’s sitcom Welcome Back, Kotter, the podcast delves into topics of Hip Hop music and culture, comedy, and includes interviews with icons like Eminem and Chris Rock. From the mouth of Rosenberg himself: “It’s simply Cipha and I bullshitting on a variety of topics.”

Peter Rosenberg is a staple radio DJ, podcast host, events producer, and TV personality, heard every weekday morning on the Hot 97 Morning Show, and every afternoon on 98.7 ESPN’s The Michael Kay Show. His authentic persona, quick wit and sense of humor have made headlines and earned him interviews with hip hop luminaries including Jay-Z, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, Rick Ross, Nicki Minaj, Kendrick Lamar and Macklemore, pop stars including Justin Bieber and Miley Cyrus, and sport legends including Mike Tyson, Victor Cruz and Hulk Hogan. He also hosts the cult wrestling podcast “Cheap Heat,” MTV2’s game show “Hip Hop Squares,” and created the acclaimed Noisemakers hip hop interview series, where he interviewed Nas, Questlove, and Pete Rock, to name a few.

Cipha Sounds is an American DJ, comedian, radio and TV personality born and raised in the Bronx. One of the first DJs to expose independent artists and regional sounds to New York City and beyond, he is the host of Cipha Sounds Effect on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Shade45, Cipha Saturdays on New York’s Hot 97, and is the face of MTV’s hip-hop countdown Sucker Free. After becoming a key member in NYC Hip Hop group Flip Squad, Cipha Sounds toured nationally alongside artists like Lil’ Kim and Mos Def, and spinning at private parties and album release galas for stars like Eminem and Mariah Carey. Cipha got the chance to spread his selections over the airwaves as part of Funkmaster Flex’s nightly radio show on Hot 97, where he learned how to break new records—helping turn once-unknowns like Sean Paul and 50 Cent into superstars, as well as carrying his talents to TV as a resident DJ on the Dave Chappelle Show.
