Cheo returns to S.O.B.’s for a night of latin dancing! With support from Borbón.
ABOUT CHEO:
Latin Grammy winner Cheo (aka José Luis Pardo) is a Venezuelan artist, guitar player, DJ, songwriter and music producer based in Brooklyn, NY; also known for his career as founder and director of dance/funk band Los Amigos Invisibles. With a career spanning 30+ years, Cheo is a staple in the Latin dance scene in New York City. He has collaborated with legendary artists including Little Louie Vega, Rawayana, Okills, La Garfield, Manchildblack, and more.
Cheo and his band bring a unqiue fusion of disco, jazz, funk, salsa, bossa nova, and Cheo’s beloved boogaloo to their live performances, filling the void of live orchestras at Latin parties in Manhattan.
In the early 90s-2000s, Cheo dominated the club scene in Caracas, Venezuela before moving to NYC and becoming a staple performer at Centrofly, Cielo, and Giant Step. In the 2010s and beyond, Cheo produced critically acclaimed works like “De Paticula” (NPR top album of 2015), received numerous grammy nominations, formed Brooklyn’s favorite live band LOCOBEACH, and went viral during lockdown with his hit song “Todo el día en la cama.” After the pandemic, Cheo started “Cheo y su conjunto,” a cult-favorite Latin dance night every week in Manhattan.
