Venezuelan artist and Latin Grammy winner Cheo is back at S.O.B.’s with his band to bring you a fresh journey through funk, disco, house, bossa nova, salsa and Boogaloo with New York spice. An artist, guitar player, DJ, songwriter and music producer based in Brooklyn, NY, Cheo is also known for his career as founder and director of dance/funk band Los Amigos Invisibles.

Join us for a beautiful and gapless dancing night with some surprise guests to make it really special, including a performance from Borbón. Fans will get an exclusive chance to hear BRAND-NEW unreleased music from the upcoming Cheo Goes Brazil EP, performed by Cheo for the first time in concert! Along with fan-favorite tracks from his band Los Amgios Invisibles, and solo albums Sorpresa, Música para verse bien, Cheo Goes Latin, Cheo Goes Funk. 

Cheo reimagines some of the classics he originally created with Los Amigos Invisibles, now infused with the warmth of samba, bossa nova, and tropicalia. These beloved songs are reinvented with his new band, blending nostalgia with innovation and offering a fresh perspective on timeless grooves.

ABOUT CHEO: 

With a career spanning 30+ years, Cheo is a staple in the Latin dance scene in New York City, with bi-weekly residences in the city. He has collaborated with legendary artists including Little Louie Vega, The Beastie Boys, David Byrne, Devendra Banhart, Julieta Venegas, Natalia Lafourcade, Monsieur Periné and Basement Jaxx.

In the early 90s-2000s, Cheo dominated the club scene in Caracas, Venezuela before moving to NYC and becoming a staple performer at Centrofly, Cielo, and Giant Step. In the 2010s and beyond, Cheo produced critically acclaimed works like “De Paticula” (NPR top album of 2015), received numerous grammy nominations, formed Brooklyn’s favorite live band LOCOBEACH, and went viral during lockdown with his hit song “Todo el día en la cama.” After the pandemic, Cheo started “Cheo y su conjunto,” a cult-favorite Latin dance night every week in Manhattan.
