A night of live brass & funk music with Dingonek Street Band! Celebrating the release of their brand new album. 

Rescheduled from Feb 13th due to severe weather in the city, get ready for this post-Mardi Gras celebration. If you love listening to live music, this is the place to be on March 2nd. Kick off your Saturday plans with food, drinks, and live music at the perfect pregame to bring you into the rest of the night.

March 2nd at SOB’s is Dingonek’s hometown album release party for their brand new record Arwe on Psydom Records. Arwe is the culmination of years of performances in New York’s renowned rock, jazz, and World music venues as well as the band’s extended residency in the New York City subway system. The new album features eight new, original tracks that blend Funk, Afrobeat, and Second-line rhythms with the unique sounds of Ethiopian jazz. In addition to performing tracks from the new album, the band will pay tribute to the end of Mardi Gras season with some adventurous covers and New Orleans brass band favorites. Built on the celebratory energy and raw spontaneity of the New Orleans brass band tradition, Dingonek has created a funky, high-energy party music all it’s own by absorbing and reworking elements of Afrobeat, Ethio-Jazz, Hip-hop, Punk rock, Post-bop, and Balkan brass music. Based in Brooklyn since 2014, Dingonek has refined their unique sound performing regularly in rock clubs, jazz clubs, and subway stations throughout NYC and across the Northeast US.
