S.O.B.'s
presents the iconic roots reggae band, Culture. Founded in
the 1970's golden age of reggae, Culture has long been reggae’s
preeminent harmony group and has garnered continual US and
international acclaim for its extensive series of classic “roots” albums.
Culture’s legendary “Two Sevens Clash” (Shanachie)
was Reggae Album of the Year in 1977 and is acknowledged by
Rolling Stone Magazine (April 11, 2002) as #25 of the 50 all
time coolest records (the only reggae album to make the list)
Culture’s long-time front man, Joseph Hill, whose devotion to the
traditional Rastafarian values of purity, simplicity and justice always
seemed to shine in his pristine vocals, passed away in 2006 in the midst
of a European tour, leaving his son, Kenyatta Hill to take up the band’s
lead. Kenyatta stepped up and finished the tour, and has since lead Culture
through various festivals and concert venues to much acclaim, shocking
critics and fans around the world by how similar he sounds to his late
great dad. He leads Culture to S.O.B.'s on August 11th, don't miss
it!
