S.O.B.’s
and Sista Factory present J*Davey, the Los Angeles-based new
wave electro-soul duo that broke out and developed a strong
cult following after several opening gigs for Prince in 2007. With
influences ranging from punk, soul rock and hip hop, J*Davey
has defined its own genre, and according to Brook D’Leau,
the group’s producer, "It's simple, [J*Davey] is
a post hip-hop electronic new wave funk punk jazz band.”
According
to ?uestlove, super-producer and famed drummer of the Roots, “J*Davey
is the swift kick in the ass I’ve been praying for Black
Music to produce!” No matter how you describe it, J*Davey
is an undeniably original sound that screams individuality. Brook
D’Leau, is the guy responsible for their snappy drum
loops and electronic impulses, while Jack Davey is the modelesque
girl, sporting a mohawk and polishing off his beats with her
sexy and seductive voice.
And with no full album to date, the
group has already received coverage in major music publications
such as The Fader (May/June '05), URB Magazine (March '06),
Xlr8r (March '06), YRB (January '07) and the COVER of BPM Magazine
(January '07). Prepare yourself for a sneak peak into
